Why the Russian energy sector?
- Great potential of increasing energy efficiency (EE) in the energy sector as the energy intensity of Russia's GDP was three times as high as the EU-15 average in 2004.
- The gradual liberalization of electricity prices which is planned to be completed in 2011, as well as the rising domestic gas prices will force both residential as industrial end-users to increase EE.
- The great potential for EE combined with the rising costs of energy resources provide business opportunities for producers of EE equipment and suppliers of technical know-how regarding EE.
Some of the projects Lighthouse has been involved in include:
- Introduction of a mobile measuring van capable of conducting energy audits.
- Introduction of energy efficient mobile cascade boiler systems for heating purposes in the Russian Federation.
- Due Diligence of 5 Russian companies participating in ERUPT-3 and ERUPT-4.
